Community Emergency Plan

Following the problems in 2010/11 with the heavy snow, the CC has now produced a Community Emergency Plan The map from this plan is particularly useful

Community Action Plan 2011

The Community Council circulated a letter requesting comments on the amended draft community action plan during August 2011. This report gives the result of the survey where 102 residents gave their views.

At the meeting of the CC on 5th September 2011 it was agreed to present the plan the Stirling Community Planning Partnership. It was made very clear that any proposals arising from the plan will be subject to further community consultation. The CPP Discussion Document is here and the The presentation is here

Strathblanefield Community Development Trust supported by the Community Council were due to present the plan to Stirling’s Community Planning Partnership Chair’s group on Friday 9th December. As there were a number of apologies given by some of the chairs it was decided to send in our plan and presentation and to request that the chairs look at our plan and our priorities and come back to us sometime in the New Year.

Local Development Plan 2013-2033 - Consultation 24 October - 16 December 2011

Stirling Council is now consulting on the final proposals for planning policy across its whole area, looking to the period 2013-2033. The draft proposed Local Development Plan (LDP) contains important proposals including the building of up to 50 new houses at one site in our local community, as well as confirming safeguards against inappropriate developments elsewhere. Minor adjustments are proposed elsewhere in the Green Belt Boundary. Full details of the proposals and background information are on Stirling's LDP website.

Stirling Council ran a Drop-in Session at the Village Club on 8 November 2011, and many residents took the opportunity to find out more and give comments. Let Stirling and the Community Council know what you think by attending our meetings, and/or by sending emails to cc@strathblanefield.org.uk. We will also encourage discussion on the forums. The Community Council held a public meeting on 23 November and this presentation was given. A note of the comments made at the meeting. At our monthly meeting on 5 December 2011, we discussed the draft LDP further and agreed these comments to be made on behalf of the community.

Background: This proposed development plan follows detailed consideration of Stirling's Main Issues Report published in 2010, and the feedback they received. For background, here is the Slide presentation from public meeting 5 July 2010 introducting the Main Issues Report
Following detailed consideration of Stirling's Main Issues Report toward the Local Development Plan for 2012-2032, the Community Council has made these comments in response.

About the Community Council

Slide show about the Community Council
Public authorities like Stirling Council, Police, Health Service like to hear from users when changing policies, or to resolve problems. Community Councillors are volunteers elected to find out and represent the views of the local community.

The Strathblane community council covers Strathblane, Blanefield, Mugdock and nearby area. This community council Map from the Stirling Council Website shows the exact boundaries.

The community council meets at 7:30PM on the first Monday of every month except July. The venue is either the Primary School (during term time) or the Village Club outwith term time. Specific meeting details are given at the end of this page.

Apart from the community council members, there is usually a local councillor, a representative from the Police and other people who have a specific reason to be present. All members of the community are welcome to attend and there are always a few present at the meetings.

Members of the community are welcome to contact the community council on local issues and can do this by sending an email to cc@strathblanefield.org.uk, contacting any community council member, or even better by attending in person at one of the community council's meetings. Don't forget, though, that Stirling Council, the Police and other bodies have their own enquiry numbers, email addresses, websites and so on. For immediate action or answers to specific questions you are better contacting the council or other officers who can answer your question directly. The Community Council is of course interested to know if there are recurring problems, or any difficulty in getting a satisfactory response from the authorities.

Current applications are discussed at community council meetings. If you make comments on any planning application, please copy us on cc@strathblanefield.org.uk.
